Monday, June 18th – We said goodbye to Bob and headed north to
Williamsburg, Virginia to join our friends, Ed & Carol Apfelbaum.
We arrived to weather that was reminiscent of what we experienced in New
Orleans… HOT & HUMID! I can’t imagine ever getting used to this humidity.
Tuesday dawned hot & humid but we didn’t let that stop us from
visiting Colonial Williamsburg and by the end of the day we all were eager to get
back to something air conditioned. We only saw a portion of Williamsburg but
decided we would go back another day since we had purchased tickets that
allowed multiple visits.

On Wednesday Jim & I went to see the Jamestown Settlement, a
reenactment of the original town and then to Historic Jamestown which is the
actual town. Very little remains above
ground in Historic Jamestown but it is a very active archeology site with many relics of the
settlement being discovered. Our visit didn’t last as long as I would have like
but we just couldn’t stand the heat anymore.

Looks like you're having a great time even with the heat. We're in Tok then up to Fairbanks. Warm here also, high 70's and more humid than I remember. Of course last time I don't think we were over 65 much. Lot's of mosquitos this time. None last time.
