Saturday, June 23rd, Ed, Carol, Jim & I left camp for nearby Charlottesville, Va. and Thomas Jefferson's home... Monticello. I had always wanted to see it after visiting George Washington's Mount Vernon on a business trip. I wasn't disappointed. He was an exceptional man and walking through his home and grounds confirmed that.
We weren't allowed to take photographs inside the home. Approximately, 30-40% of the furnishings were on loan and the owners would not allow photographs. All of the photos below are of the outside of the estate and the "Dependencies", explained below.
